The Rodney A. White VFW Auxiliary, Post 8270, reports that the Penny Sale on Saturday, September 9, was a great success. A big thank you goes out to the donors, callers, and runners!
VFW Post 8270 hosted a free breakfast for all US veterans on Sunday, September 24 at the Rivers Edge Grill in Ossipee. Thirty vets ranging from WWII to the wars in the gulf got together for free food and a chance to socialize with other vets living in the lakes region.
Independence Day was celebrated with the VFW Post leading off the Old Home Week Fourth of July parade. God bless America! Following the parade, there was a cannon shoot and picnic for the more adventurous.
The Ossipee Police Department and the Ossipee VFW conducted the annual kids fishing derby with more than 20 kids participating.
Flag Day was marked with the respectful retirement of 439 American flags and followed by the annual flag day picnic.
